Tiny Dot Without Tinubu!’ – Reno Omokri Rips Into Boss Mustapha Over APC Power Tussle”

According to NIVONEWS, Tinubu had previously declared that Buhari’s earlier presidential attempts had failed until he stepped in to support him. “If not for me standing behind Buhari, he wouldn’t have become President,” Tinubu stated, recalling that Buhari lost three times and had vowed not to contest again until he convinced him otherwise in Kaduna—on the condition that he must not neglect the Yoruba people.
However, at the launch of Garba Shehu’s book, “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesperson’s Experience,” Boss Mustapha downplayed Tinubu’s role. He argued that Buhari already had a base of 12 million votes, and the merger that formed the All Progressives Congress (APC) merely added three million more. Mustapha maintained that the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and Buhari’s personal following were the real foundation of APC’s 2015 victory.
According to NIVONEWS, Reno Omokri, speaking during an interview on ARISE Television on Wednesday, slammed Mustapha’s position. He described his remarks as “silly” and dismissed the idea that Buhari could have succeeded without Tinubu’s backing.
“Boss Mustapha was just being silly,” Omokri said. “Without Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s political history would have taken a different turn. President Jonathan would have won that election, and Buhari would’ve remained just a tiny dot—like he once described the southeast—a dot in a circle.”
On the state of the APC and Nigeria’s political direction, Omokri rejected claims of creeping authoritarianism. He attributed the increasing defections to the APC to Tinubu’s performance in office.
“More people are joining APC because of President Tinubu’s achievements. That’s performance, whether anyone wants to admit it or not,” he asserted.
