Franklin, in a post shared via his official (formerly Twitter) account, argued that Tinubu’s administration is making the right moves, but that Nigeria’s opposition parties are unwilling to acknowledge any progress made by the current government.
“In Nigeria, when the opposition is campaigning against you, they never acknowledge any of your achievements. President Tinubu is getting many things right,” Franklin wrote.
He added that although various political actors are coming together to form a coalition ahead of 2027, such efforts are unlikely to succeed.
“With the way things are shaping up, it’ll be another interesting election. But they won’t be able to unseat Mr President,” he asserted.
Franklin also urged Nigerians to hold state governors accountable, stressing that they now receive more allocations than their predecessors and should be doing more to complement efforts at the federal level.
However, his comments sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians flooding his comment section to accuse him of being out of touch with reality and seeking political relevance.
One user, @peculiarpat1, responded with a scathing critique:
“Governance isn’t about sentiment. It’s measured through indicators like GDP, HDI, Better Life Index, and others. Can you honestly say the lives of Nigerians have improved in terms of security, health, education, and standard of living?”

“Don’t be surprised. More like Ubi will spring up soon. They think they have a seat at the table, but in reality, they’re on the menu.”
