Messrs Hector Ekakita and Aloni Olodi have been declared wanted by the Rivers State Police Command over allegations of criminal conspiracy, theft, assault occasioning harm, and attempted murder.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the duo—who serve as the Chief Security Officer and Chief of Staff, respectively, to the Ahoada-East Local Government Council—allegedly led about 30 assailants in a violent attack on the council’s Sole Administrator, Goodluck Iheamnacho, on June 20 at the council secretariat.

“These individuals, along with a mob of approximately 30 people, are accused of assaulting the sole administrator, inflicting bodily injuries, forcefully obtaining his signature under duress, stealing his mobile phones and sensitive documents, and looting both personal and official items from his office,” Iringe-Koko said.

She added that Mr. Iheamnacho has been receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the assault.

The police spokesperson explained that the two officials were declared wanted after failing to respond to an invitation for questioning. She cautioned the public against offering them protection or assistance in evading justice.

“Following their refusal to honour a police invitation, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, has declared them wanted. In their own interest, they are advised to report immediately to the State Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt,” she stated.

Iringe-Koko also appealed to members of the public with credible information about the suspects’ whereabouts to contact the command.

A viral video from June showed Mr. Iheamnacho being flogged while lying on the floor by masked attackers. A voice off-camera was heard directing him to sign a letter, while the footage later captured another man being assaulted—allegedly for attempting to report the incident.

APC Fires Back at Adeleke Over ₦300bn LG Funds Allegation, Blames Governor for Salary Crisis....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to claims by Governor Ademola Adeleke that local government officials under the party diverted about ₦300 billion meant for workers’ salaries.

Adeleke had made the allegation during a stakeholders’ meeting, accusing APC-controlled council officials of hijacking funds and forcing the state government to shoulder salary payments for local government workers, teachers, health staff, and pensioners for over a year.

He insisted he would not abandon workers, blaming the situation for delays in executing some state projects.

But in a statement, APC’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, dismissed the claims, accusing the governor of misleading the public and shifting blame.

The party alleged that Adeleke was responsible for the salary issues, claiming he refused to release electronic payment vouchers and other financial documents needed for processing payments.

APC also said pension-related records, leave bonuses, cooperative deductions, and other financial data had not been made available despite repeated appeals, insisting that funds were properly accounted for and available for use if approved.

The party urged pensioners and workers to seek clarification, insisting the situation could be resolved if the governor allowed due process to take place.
