Manhunt in Rivers! Police Declare Two Top LG Officials Wanted Over Political Unrest

The Rivers State Police Command has declared two senior officials of the Ahoada East Local Government Area wanted over their alleged involvement in a violent assault on the council’s Sole Administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Those declared wanted are the Chief Security Officer of Ahoada East LGA, Mr. Hector Ekakita, and the Chief of Staff, Mr. Aloni Olodi.

Iheanachor, one of the 23 council administrators appointed by the State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), was reportedly attacked within the council secretariat.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the state police spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the wanted officials allegedly led a group of about 30 youths who stormed Iheanachor’s office on June 20, 2025. During the attack, the administrator was allegedly beaten, coerced into signing a resignation letter, and had vital documents and personal items carted away.

The police have accused the duo of criminal conspiracy, theft, assault occasioning harm, and attempted murder.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Olugbenga Adepoju, ordered the manhunt after both suspects failed to respond to official invitations to report for questioning.

“The Rivers State Police Command has declared the following individuals wanted: Mr. Hector Ekakita and Mr. Aloni Olodi, both of Ahoada East LGA, for their roles in the violent attack on Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor at the council secretariat,” the statement read.

“The suspects, along with others, inflicted bodily harm, forcefully obtained the victim’s signature, and stole both official and personal items. The Sole Administrator is still receiving medical care due to injuries sustained.”

Iringe-Koko further warned that anyone found sheltering or aiding the suspects will face prosecution. She urged the public to provide any useful information on their whereabouts to the police headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, or via the command’s emergency lines.

“The Rivers State Police Command remains unwavering in its commitment to upholding justice, law, and order across the state,” the statement concluded.
