Burial Controversy: Bianca Ojukwu’s Sharp Rebuke to Staff Trying to Attend ‘His Own Funeral’

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, took to Instagram to share a humorous message she received from one of her office staff regarding a funeral leave request.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The staff informed her that a colleague, Mr. Hyginus Ngum, was seeking permission to attend his own burial.

The message read:

“Good morning Ma. I want to inform you that Mr. Hyginus Ngum is seeking permission from the office to attend his burial. Waiting for your directives, Ma.”

Ojukwu expressed disbelief at the unusual excuse, questioning how someone could attend their own burial.

She explained that since she hasn’t been physically present at her home office, her staff have been coming up with various funeral-related excuses to avoid work, especially on Fridays.

She wrote:

“How can I frustrate these people today? They are looking for trouble. What kind of excuse is this again? Because I’m not at my home office, funeral excuses are the order of every Friday—‘my father died,’ ‘my uncle died,’ ‘my in-law died,’ ‘my great-grandmother died’… until this new excuse came through today.

‘Attend his own burial’? Nothing Ganiyu can’t see at the gate. Anyway, I’m waiting. The dead will soon demand condolence packages. That’s when his ghost will hear my closing remarks and vote of thanks before the funeral ends. Ridiculous!
