“Blood on His Hands? ‘Bibi the Butcher’ Label Resurfaces Amid Civilian Deaths”

Published

Wars often shatter illusions. Amidst the chaos of gunfire and looting, innocence becomes a casualty. Such was the case in the recent clash between Israel and Iran. Supporters lined up behind their flags — some invoking Abraham of the Old Testament, others calling on Ibrahim. In the West, Trump declared victory before the smoke had even cleared.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

War often deceives. In the noise of gunfire and plunder, innocence disappears. That was the reality in the latest confrontation between Israel and Iran. Once the bullets flew, everyone was implicated. People took sides. Biblical zealots invoked Abraham—from the Torah on one side, and the Quran on the other. In the West, Donald Trump preened over a premature triumph.

But when the dust settles, war in the modern era reveals uncomfortable truths. Victory isn’t guaranteed by raw power or deadly arsenals. Nuclear stockpiles and B2 bombers don’t always yield parades or peace. Take Russia, for example. Despite its might, it’s bled men, money, and moral capital just to inch forward in Ukraine. Russia isn’t winning. But Ukraine isn’t losing either.

In Gaza, children lie beneath crushed buildings while Hamas, battered and bloodied, survives. Israel’s military might has not erased its enemy. Trump launched missiles at Iran, but even U.S. intelligence couldn’t claim definitive success. Modern warfare has its limits: stealth jets impress but don’t conquer, intelligence gathers data that can still mislead, and trained troops break things, but not enough to change outcomes. The real question isn’t who fights—but who sponsors the bloodshed and what they stand to gain.

There are three central actors in this theater: Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. But to ask who the winner is, is to ask the wrong question. The true victor is corruption. And Netanyahu? He is the sinner.

Few are asking whether America had a just cause to strike Iran. Trump himself conceded Iran posed no imminent nuclear threat. There was no urgency. The danger was real, yes—but not beyond diplomacy. Iran wasn’t cooperating, but it hadn’t escalated to war either. So why did Netanyahu strike? Was it out of fear? Not exactly. Israel has lived under threat for decades. Even when it destroyed Iraq’s nuclear reactor years ago, no such frenzy followed. So what changed?

Netanyahu was drowning in corruption allegations. His political career was gasping for air. He attempted to rewrite the rules—trying to neuter Israel’s Supreme Court through parliamentary power plays. The public revolted. Protests surged. Israel teetered on the edge of constitutional chaos. Then came October 7. Iranian-backed Hamas launched a brutal attack on Israeli civilians at a music festival. Israelis were kidnapped, women assaulted, dozens killed. For Netanyahu, it was the perfect crisis. The nation, now under siege, stopped questioning his integrity. He cloaked himself in historical victimhood—the Holocaust, pogroms, exile—and cast himself as the protector of the Jewish people. But it wasn’t about the Jews. It was about saving Bibi.

He called on America. He launched an all-out assault on Gaza. Hamas was culpable, yes, but it had also handed Netanyahu the justification he needed. Iran smiled. Jews rallied. The war began. And like most wars, it’s been prolonged by politics. Netanyahu declared the fight would not end until Hamas was obliterated. But he knows that’s impossible. His real goal? To drag the war long enough to distract from his legal troubles. Yet the world has started to see through the charade: the starving children, the devastated cities, the disproportionate casualties. The PR war is slipping from his grip.

Meanwhile, Trump and Netanyahu found a common enemy in Iran. Khamenei, another blood-soaked autocrat, had been stoking flames across the region—from Yemen to Ukraine. He supplied Russia with missiles. He postured against Israel. He was ripe for confrontation. Trump needed a spectacle. Netanyahu needed cover. Iran became the stage.

Israeli airstrikes dismantled Iranian military assets, killing high-ranking officers and forcing Khamenei into hiding. He later emerged, declaring victory. Iranian missiles pummelled Israeli cities, overwhelming defense systems and demonstrating Tehran’s capability. Netanyahu downplayed the carnage, insisting Israel only struck military sites. But the death toll tells a different story: over 600 Iranians killed versus under 30 Israelis. The math is brutal. The moral arithmetic, even worse.

And yet Netanyahu presents himself as the aggrieved party. Trump quickly pulled back after Iran symbolically retaliated by hitting a U.S. base—no casualties, no real damage. A choreographed warning. Trump was done. But Bibi wanted more. Washington said no. Now, Netanyahu is cornered. What next? Perhaps another provocation. Another war to hide behind.

This is how corrupted leaders manipulate war to bury their scandals. They treat destruction as strategy. It recalls the dark existentialism of Imre Kertész in Fatelessness, where he chillingly describes happiness inside the horror of Auschwitz. Or Albert Camus’ The Myth of Sisyphus, where despair gives way to absurd laughter. Netanyahu, like the tyrants before him, forgets the lessons of history.

World War II reduced Europe to ruins. A book like The Last Days of Budapest reminds us how civilizations—once teeming with culture—can collapse into blood and rubble. That’s why Netanyahu must be checked. He is a small man with a dangerous appetite, capable of igniting a global firestorm. Remember, a single assassin in Sarajevo sparked World War I. The Yoruba Wars began over a pepper market dispute. Never underestimate how little it takes to unleash hell.

Bibi cannot be allowed to weaponise ancient prophecy for petty gain.

APC Fires Back at Adeleke Over ₦300bn LG Funds Allegation, Blames Governor for Salary Crisis....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to claims by Governor Ademola Adeleke that local government officials under the party diverted about ₦300 billion meant for workers’ salaries.

Adeleke had made the allegation during a stakeholders’ meeting, accusing APC-controlled council officials of hijacking funds and forcing the state government to shoulder salary payments for local government workers, teachers, health staff, and pensioners for over a year.

He insisted he would not abandon workers, blaming the situation for delays in executing some state projects.

But in a statement, APC’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, dismissed the claims, accusing the governor of misleading the public and shifting blame.

The party alleged that Adeleke was responsible for the salary issues, claiming he refused to release electronic payment vouchers and other financial documents needed for processing payments.

APC also said pension-related records, leave bonuses, cooperative deductions, and other financial data had not been made available despite repeated appeals, insisting that funds were properly accounted for and available for use if approved.

The party urged pensioners and workers to seek clarification, insisting the situation could be resolved if the governor allowed due process to take place.
