“Welcome Parade for Warlords? Bandits Treated Better Than Veterans!”
Nigeria drew global condemnation when its government recently celebrated Ado Aleru, a notorious bandit leader, in Danmusa, Katsina State—an act seen as deeply shameful by the world’s responsible nations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Aleru: The Day Nigeria Bowed to Terror
Once a name whispered in fear across Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina, Ado Aleru sat unchallenged like royalty—flanked by military officers, community heads, and traditional rulers in Danmusa, Katsina State. There, a wanted bandit leader negotiated “peace,” not in chains or behind bars, but in comfort and command.
He didn’t speak with contrition. He spoke with authority.
“As long as you keep calling us terrorists, we will keep acting like terrorists,” he declared—boldly, defiantly.
And no one interrupted him. Not a single soldier raised a weapon. Not a single official challenged his audacity. This wasn’t a peace process; it was a performance of surrender. A man who should have faced justice for crimes against humanity was instead accorded honour and recognition.
What kind of nation negotiates with warlords who torch villages and burn children alive? What kind of army stands idle while a terrorist delivers a speech?
This wasn’t diplomacy—it was disgrace.
By treating Aleru with such reverence, the Nigerian government didn’t just legitimize terror—they empowered it. They handed it a platform, a voice, and a face. They confirmed what many feared: that the state is no longer in control. The terrorists are—and they’ve become tools in the country’s political machinery.
As for the security forces, they have lost their moral compass. They chase students for tweets, muzzle journalists, and brutalize civilians over bribes—yet sit respectfully before a warlord. The hypocrisy is staggering.
This is not how a country dies in war. This is how it dies in peace—when bandits are crowned negotiators and justice is strangled in the open.
Nigeria is in a battle for its very soul—and right now, it is losing.
The message sent by the Aleru episode is clear: In today’s Nigeria, to be heard, you must kill. Respect is earned not by service, but by spilling blood.
If President Bola Tinubu wishes to be remembered for anything beyond silence, he must speak up. Because right now, that silence is louder than any gunfire.
