Transfer Shockwaves: Galatasaray’s Patience Wears Thin on Osimhen, Chelsea Turns Cold on Maignan
Galatasaray Vice President Expresses Frustration Over Osimhen’s Transfer Stalemate, Chelsea Pulls Plug on Maignan Deal....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Galatasaray vice president Abdullah Kavukcu has voiced his disappointment over Victor Osimhen’s continued hesitation regarding a permanent switch to the Turkish giants.
Kavukcu warned that the club might soon be compelled to explore alternative targets due to the Nigerian striker’s delay in making a decision.
Osimhen, who had a phenomenal 2024/2025 season on loan at Galatasaray, netting 37 goals and delivering eight assists in 41 matches, played a pivotal role in securing both the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles under manager Okan Buruk.
Galatasaray is reported to have made a highly lucrative offer—surpassing those presented by most top European clubs—in a bid to sign him permanently.
However, Osimhen, currently vacationing in Nigeria, has yet to decide on his future, despite previously rejecting a big-money move to Saudi club Al-Hilal.
“He’s keeping us waiting, but time is not on our side,” Kavukcu said. “We’ve put forward an offer that exceeds what’s on the table in Europe.”
Meanwhile, in England, Chelsea has formally withdrawn from negotiations for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
According to Sky Sports News, the Blues opted out of the potential deal after evaluating their current goalkeeping roster.
Chelsea currently has four senior goalkeepers—Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, and Mike Penders. At least two are expected to depart this summer, with one likely heading to Strasbourg on loan and another being sold to streamline the squad and allow for more playing opportunities.
Although Maignan had been offered to Chelsea earlier in the transfer window, the club exited talks without making an official offer. For now, manager Enzo Maresca appears unlikely to add a new goalkeeper this summer.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
