The five-day conference, themed “Global Citizenship Through the Lens of Faith: Connecting Local Actions to Global Outcomes,” was held at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in Topo, Badagry, Lagos.
Tajudeen Olasupo, Amir of the NASFAT Youth Wing, explained that the theme was inspired by the urgent need to raise youth awareness and foster meaningful, impact-driven engagement.
“Young people are vital to any society’s progress, which is why NASFAT continues to place them at the heart of its vision,” he stated.
He noted that the conference aimed to equip youths with leadership skills, promote innovation, and encourage their inclusion in decision-making processes. According to him, the event also served as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly climate action.
“We’re more than just a religious organisation focused on Islam and da’wah,” Olasupo emphasized. “We are deeply invested in driving societal change and sustainability. Over the past five years, we’ve planted 10,000 trees globally—and we’re just getting started.”
National Ameerah Ummulkhayr Adeleke also highlighted NASFAT’s strategic collaborations with government agencies and civil society organisations to tackle pressing national issues.
Conference Planning Committee Chairman, Alebiosu Sulaiman, revealed that the event formed part of NASFAT’s 30th anniversary celebration.
“This year’s conference was intentionally inclusive. We invited other Muslim groups, non-Muslim organisations, and the wider public. NASFAT stands firmly for peace, unity, and coexistence,” he added.
