A public announcement signed by Kabir Akanbi, Secretary of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) and Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, on Tuesday, revealed the names of 72 lawyers shortlisted for the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) for the year 2025.

The shortlist features 57 candidates in the advocates’ category and 15 from academia, all selected based on the LPPC’s rigorous selection guidelines. This list precedes the final interview stage.

The LPPC has invited the general public to submit comments regarding the integrity, capability, and professional reputation of the listed candidates. According to the committee, such submissions must be backed by an affidavit sworn before a superior court of record in Nigeria or a Notary Public, and must be submitted in 20 copies.

The committee emphasized that inclusion on the shortlist does not guarantee conferment of the SAN title. The final list of successful candidates will be published after the interview and evaluation process is completed.
