The Nigerian striker earned the honour for his sensational bicycle kick against Antalyaspor, scored during stoppage time in Galatasaray’s dominant 3–0 victory at RAMS Park. The jaw-dropping effort, widely celebrated as a moment of sheer brilliance, was his third league goal at the time.
The 26-year-old, currently on loan from Napoli, had a standout season in Turkey, finishing as the Super Lig’s top scorer with 26 goals. His stellar performances have sparked renewed discussion over his long-term future following his temporary move from Serie A last September.
In related news, another Nigerian star, Victor Boniface, is reportedly on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid.
According to The Athletic, newly appointed manager Xabi Alonso is eyeing Boniface as a potential backup striker—a role similar to that of Joselu. Alonso, who succeeded Carlo Ancelotti this summer, is said to value Boniface’s ability to deliver when needed and is familiar with the forward from their time together at Bayer Leverkusen. Other players, including Borja Iglesias, are also under consideration for the role.
