In the brief video, Zainab, visibly upset, stated that they had no home and were stranded near Eko Hotel in Lagos at 1 am. She shared her feelings of being unsafe and uncared for, saying, “This is me, daughter of the Emir of Kano, on the streets of Lagos, unsafe and stranded. No one cares if I live or die. No one owes me anything, but I deserve to feel safe and protected.”

Zainab revealed that her father had left her with no financial security, education, or home, leading her to struggle in her attempt to survive. “They’ve turned me into an urchin, a girl with so many dreams but now with nothing—no job, no degree, no home,” she said.

She also expressed the burden she feels as the primary caretaker of her mother and younger brother, stating that she has no resources left to support them. “I ran away because the pressure is too much. I have no means to provide for them,” Zainab explained.

Despite her efforts to seek help, including reaching out to prominent figures like the president, the governor, and the current Emir Sanusi, Zainab claimed she had not received any meaningful support. She ended the video by sharing her feelings of hopelessness: “I’ve pleaded for help, but nobody cares. It’s clear that no one cares if I live or die, and I don’t know how much longer I can keep going.
