Labeling the attacks as “a renewed surge of senseless violence,” the party’s National Caretaker Committee, headed by Senator Nenadi Usman, demanded a comprehensive investigation and swift prosecution of those responsible, irrespective of their status or affiliations.

In a statement issued on Monday, the acting National Chairman decried the brutal killing of over 100 individuals, including women, children, displaced persons, and security officers, as well as the widespread destruction of homes and livelihoods.

“These victims are not just numbers—they were innocent lives cut down in their prime. Children, who deserved protection, were slaughtered. Mothers, meant to nurture families, now lie in mass graves. Fathers, trying to defend their homes, were mercilessly executed,” Usman said.

She expressed deep concern over the scale and brazenness of the violence, highlighting arson attacks, ambushes on security personnel, and repeated assaults on IDPs as grim evidence of the government’s failure to safeguard its citizens.

“The Benue massacre is not merely a regional tragedy—it is a national disgrace. The powerlessness of the victims and the audacity of the attackers expose a gaping hole in leadership and accountability,” she added.

Alongside military intervention, the party called for a coordinated humanitarian response—including food, shelter, medical aid, and psychological support for the survivors.

Usman also urged Nigerians to move beyond empty condemnations and demand real, tangible action, warning that inaction only encourages the killers.

“To the families mourning their dead, I grieve with you as a mother. To the orphaned children, widowed women, and devastated communities—you are not alone. Your pain is felt across the nation, and your cry for justice must not be ignored,” she declared.

The Labour Party affirmed its commitment to championing people-centered policies that guarantee the safety and dignity of all Nigerians, especially those living in rural and high-risk areas.

“This bloodshed must stop. Nigeria cannot continue like this. Enough is enough,” Usman concluded.

Kwara PDP Protests As Govt Moves To Reopen Robbery Case Against Saraki, Others.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has strongly opposed reported moves by the state government to revisit the alleged Offa robbery case involving former Governor Abubakar Bukola Saraki and others.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

reports that the party made its position known during an emergency press conference in Ilorin on Friday, describing the development as politically motivated and unjust.

PDP spokesman, Comrade Olushola Adewara, said the alleged plan to reopen the case amounts to an attempt to politicise a matter that has already been concluded by the courts.

He alleged that the move was targeted at dragging Saraki into a case in which, according to him, legal authorities had previously found no evidence linking him to the incident.

Adewara referenced earlier legal opinions from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, which reportedly stated that Saraki was not connected to the robbery case.

The party insisted that suspects in the case had already been prosecuted and convicted, with judgments upheld at appellate levels, while the matter is currently before the Supreme Court.

PDP urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to focus on governance rather than what it described as attempts to revive old political narratives.

It also called on security agencies to monitor the situation closely, warning that such actions could heighten political tension in the state.

The party further appealed to residents, especially families of victims in Offa, not to allow their pain to be used for political purposes.
