Explosive Claim: Tinubu Government Abandoning the Poor in the North – Tanko Yunusa”
The Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Tanko Yunusa, has expressed deep concern over the escalating poverty rate in Nigeria, particularly in the northern region, which he says is the worst affected.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television’s Morning Brief programme, Yunusa criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for failing to deliver on its campaign promises, including commitments to provide a decent standard of living for all Nigerians and create three million jobs annually.
He lamented that the government’s efforts have fallen short, leaving many citizens in hardship.
“A party’s manifesto is a social contract with the people—it outlines the promises made during the campaign. This administration pledged to ensure a decent life for every Nigerian, yet that promise remains unfulfilled. What does a decent life look like now?” Yunusa asked.
He continued,
“They also promised three million new jobs annually. Two years in, that should amount to six million jobs. Nigerians should be able to judge whether that promise has been kept.”
Yunusa concluded with a grim reflection on the current economic strain:
“With the hardship people are facing, I wonder how Nigerians will even manage to celebrate Sallah. The poverty rate is alarming, and the northern region is bearing the brunt more than any other part of the country.”
