In a statement shared via his official handle on Friday, Tinubu described the summit as a significant stride towards achieving a more prosperous and integrated West Africa—driven by trade, innovation, and the strength of its people.
The 2025 WAES, themed “Unlocking Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Region”, will take place in Abuja from June 20 to 21.
Tinubu wrote:
“Two years ago, I made a promise to pursue a foreign policy that prioritizes our people, prosperity, and rightful place in the world.
Today, I’m proud to announce the West Africa Economic Summit (WAES) 2025, holding in Abuja on June 20–21, under the theme ‘Unlocking Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Region’.
This summit represents more than just an event—it’s a bold step toward building a prosperous and integrated West Africa, driven by trade, innovation, and our greatest asset: our people.
WAES 2025 will bring together Heads of State, CEOs, investors, entrepreneurs, youth innovators, and development partners to create actionable solutions and unlock new opportunities.
From the Presidential Roundtable to high-impact deal-making sessions, youth showcases, and regional project partnerships — this is where vision translates into action.
I invite the world to gather in Abuja as we work together to build a stronger, more unified, and globally competitive West Africa.”
