Dele Odule: “I’ve Never Been a Good Producer”
Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule has opened up about his struggles with movie production, admitting that he lacks the financial discipline required to be successful in that aspect of the industry.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking in an interview with Oyinmomo, the Yoruba film star said he prefers acting over producing because production involves complex money management, which he admits is not his strength.
“I’ve never been a good producer,” Odule said. “A good producer must know how to manage money. Production is a commercial venture, and you need to be able to make a profit—but I’m not good at that.”
Odule revealed that although he has produced about ten movies, he cannot confirm whether any of them made a profit or even locate the master copies today. “That’s another sign that I’m not a good producer,” he added.
Despite his past challenges, Odule expressed interest in producing a film for a major platform like Netflix or cinema, stating, “I wouldn’t do anything less than that.”
He also disclosed that he was blacklisted from acting for two years, claiming it was due to perceptions that he posed a threat within the industry. “They tried to deal with me through blackmail,” he said.

According to reports, the cause of his death has not yet been disclosed, but tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues, fans, and figures within the entertainment and cultural community.

Throughout his career, he earned recognition from juju legend King Sunny Ade and was honoured at a major event in Lagos during the height of juju music’s popularity.
Beyond music performance, Ajao was also known for blending music with academics, contributing to the preservation and growth of traditional Nigerian sounds.

In an interview with Draft Africa, she said her experience after the 2021 “Shine Ya Eye” season was so intense that she would not recommend the show to anyone close to her.
Tega revealed that life after the show affected her mental health, worsening her anxiety and making everyday activities more difficult, including going out alone.
She explained that she now struggles with social anxiety and finds public spaces overwhelming, noting that even simple interactions became challenging after her BBNaija experience.
According to her, “If you’re not mentally strong, don’t go. I won’t tell anybody close to me to go for Big Brother.”
She added that she can give hugs but feels uncomfortable receiving them, and sometimes avoids social interactions due to the pressure she still deals with.

The award-winning artiste made the revelation in the lyrics of his new song Moviestar, a collaboration with French pianist Sofiane Pamart.
Rema, who rose to prominence after signing with Mavin Records and dropping his debut EP in 2019 at just 19, suggested that his early breakthrough came with difficulties that are not visible to the public.
He noted that many people misunderstand his journey because they do not realise how young he was when he entered the spotlight, adding that he “got caught up so young” and went through personal struggles.
In the song, the 25-year-old also made striking claims about his experiences during fame, alleging that he was introduced to drugs by some women.
He sang: “Girls always give me drugs. My happiness is zipped in their little purse… Friends always make me feel robbed…”
Rema further explained that things became more complicated after signing his record deal, saying he found it hard to step away from the pressures of the music industry.
Through the lyrics, he hinted at constant pressure to perform and entertain, often without regard for his emotional well-being.
He added that the pain he endured is often hidden behind the glamorous image fans see of his success.
