Sanwo-Olu Swears In New Civil Service Commission, Emphasizes Transparency

During a formal swearing-in ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja, on Tuesday, the governor inaugurated the commission’s new leadership, including Chairman Boladele Dapo-Thomas and Commissioners Alhaji Fatai Lasisi, Afolabi Shobowale, Rufus Adedapo, and Lateef Olawale.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described their appointment as a reward for professionalism and dedication, while also underscoring the critical role of the civil service in ensuring effective governance.
“This ceremony signifies our commitment to integrity, fairness, and efficiency in public service delivery. The work ahead requires you to uphold these values in all decisions and actions,” he said.
The governor charged the commission to modernize civil service operations and foster an environment that supports growth and excellence.
Supporting the governor’s remarks, Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, expressed confidence in the new appointees’ capacity to strengthen the public sector framework.
“The Lagos Public Service holds itself to the highest standards. I am certain the new commissioners will bring their expertise to bear in shaping future policy and sustaining excellence,” Agoro stated.
He encouraged the new leadership to remain focused and to act as catalysts for reforms that align with the state’s broader development goals.
