He assured attendees that Nigeria’s armed forces are receiving support to take back the forests and address insecurity collaboratively with state and local authorities.

The President also pointed to early signs of economic recovery, crediting ongoing reforms. During the event, President Tinubu expressed appreciation to former Governor Aminu Bello Masari for his early support during the APC presidential primaries. He also recognized the presence of governors from Kaduna, Jigawa, Borno, Benue, Yobe, Sokoto, and Kwara, who were in Katsina to commission infrastructure projects and attend a high-profile wedding.

President Tinubu praised Katsina indigenes for their contributions to Nigeria’s development and described former President Muhammadu Buhari as a man of integrity whose leadership left a lasting mark.

One of the attendees, Pastor Henry Opara, called for formal bilateral agreements, stressing that most current business interactions between both countries are informal and based on personal relationships rather than structured government frameworks.
