Kenneth Imasuagbon, a former Edo State governorship aspirant, has expressed deep concern over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and economic instability, warning that the nation is rapidly losing international respect and investor confidence.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued from Benin on Saturday, Imasuagbon lamented that Nigeria is becoming a source of ridicule in global media due to its inability to resolve escalating national challenges.

“The world sees us as a nation in disarray. Our pain makes international headlines, and our global image is deteriorating fast,” he stated.

He highlighted that unchecked insecurity is discouraging both local and foreign investors, thereby worsening unemployment and deepening poverty levels across the country.

“Investors won’t stake their money where their lives are at risk. Each act of violence doesn’t just take lives—it destroys dreams and businesses. This crisis is an economic death sentence,” he said.

Imasuagbon, who is also an educationist, said it is heartbreaking to see a once-promising nation sinking into chaos. “At 59, I should be thinking about legacies. But how can there be legacy when roads are deadly, schools are shutting down, and farmers are too afraid to farm?” he questioned.

He called for urgent, decisive action from the government, urging it to shift focus from politics to real leadership. “We need leaders who take responsibility, not those who make excuses. Nigerians are suffering. This isn’t the change we were promised,” he said.

Imasuagbon further charged the citizens to remain united and vocal in holding leaders accountable. “Silence is no longer an option. If leadership fails, the people must rise. This country belongs to us all, and we must save it together,” he concluded.
