Gov Sule Debunks Exit Rumours: Buhari, Malami Staying Put in APC
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has refuted circulating reports suggesting that former President Muhammadu Buhari, former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and other figures from the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) are planning to exit the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Responding to these speculations during a press engagement in Lafia on Friday, Sule emphasized that efforts to create division within the APC have proven unsuccessful. He noted that certain individuals are falsely projecting internal discord, claiming CPC-aligned members feel marginalized under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Clarifying the situation, the governor stated emphatically that Buhari remains deeply committed to the APC, describing the former president as the true embodiment of the CPC legacy.
“There is no such thing as taking CPC away from APC. Buhari is CPC,” Sule said. “If he supports you, the CPC supports you. If he withdraws, the CPC withdraws. That’s the level of loyalty and influence he carries.”
He also highlighted Buhari’s enduring political capital, asserting that the former leader continues to command the support of 12 million voters across the nation. According to Sule, Buhari has no intention of abandoning the ruling party.
Addressing the status of Malami, Sule declared the former Attorney General remains a committed APC member. “Those trying to lure Malami away will not succeed. He is not leaving,” he asserted.
Governor Sule revealed that he and other APC leaders had recently visited Buhari in Kaduna to reaffirm their unity. “We told him, ‘Baba, you’re not going anywhere.’ And he agreed,” Sule concluded.
