Emergency response teams, including security operatives, explosive ordnance specialists, and fire service personnel, were swiftly deployed to the scene and successfully contained the fire that followed the explosion.

The police urged residents to remain calm and assured the public that updates would be provided as further information emerges.

In a related statement, the Borno State Government attributed the fire outbreak to the prevailing extreme heat in the region. The Directorate of Fire Service under the Ministry of Information and Internal Security explained that the unusually high temperatures may have triggered the ignition of explosives stored in the barracks.
