During his appeal, the monarch also asked other political aspirants from Ward A, his home ward, to consider stepping aside in the interest of political harmony. Princess Damilola, a strong contender for the chairmanship seat, received the advice after Princess Oluremi Ajose, the daughter of Oba Oyekan Ajose Possi III, visited the palace seeking royal approval for her candidacy.
