Church Halts Wedding Over Bride’s Refusal to Sleep in Pastor’s House

Sources indicate the bride declined to spend the night at the parsonage where, in line with church tradition, she was to receive pre-wedding counseling from the officiating pastor’s wife. Additionally, she reportedly failed to present herself for a mandatory pregnancy test, another requirement of the church’s marriage protocol.
According to Promise Uzoma Okoro, the bride had earlier acknowledged the Assemblies of God’s guidelines and agreed to comply, but failed to show up at the parsonage on the eve of the ceremony. This prompted the church to cancel the event, even after guests had gathered for the occasion.
The disruption left attendees disappointed and confused, with no official word yet from either the church or the affected couple. It remains unclear whether the couple sought alternative arrangements to proceed with the wedding elsewhere.
