Nwosu Backs Southern Presidency Continuity, Warns Against Power Shift to North

Speaking with journalists on Saturday in Abuja, the former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government emphasized that it would be unjust and inequitable for power to shift back to the North so soon. He strongly advocated for the South to finish its full eight-year cycle, as is fair.
Nwosu said, “It is both unfair and unjust to suggest that power should revert to the North by 2027. I fully support the South completing its rightful eight years. President Bola Tinubu, a Southerner, is currently in office. Why should we even entertain discussions about returning the presidency to the North at this stage?”
He argued that since President Buhari had served a full eight-year tenure, it was only equitable for the South to complete its term before considering any rotation.
Addressing the push for a power shift specifically to the South-East, Nwosu advised patience, urging the zone to support President Tinubu through the completion of his administration.
He further cautioned against premature judgments of Tinubu’s government, suggesting that more time should be given to allow his reforms and programs to yield visible results.
According to Nwosu, despite challenges, Tinubu has already made commendable strides in economic and infrastructural development within his short time in office.
