Governor Uba Sani Applauds DSS for Major Security Breakthroughs in Kaduna, Commends Tinubu’s Appointment
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Oluwatosin Ajayi as the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), praising the agency’s recent strides in tackling insecurity nationwide.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Sunday through the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Sule Shuaibu (SAN), during a visit to the DSS Command Headquarters in Kaduna, Governor Sani highlighted the agency’s 34 successful operations across the state, which resulted in the arrest of 54 suspects and the seizure of significant arms and ammunition.
According to Shuaibu, those apprehended include eight suspected bandits, 22 informants, four arms traffickers, two human traffickers, four cybercriminals, two vandals, and 12 relatives of wanted bandits. Among the recoveries were five AK-47 rifles, a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), three Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) launchers, and over 5,000 rounds of ammunition.
In addition to the arrests, 79 kidnap victims were rescued and are now under the custody of the Kaduna State Government.
The DSS also nabbed a serving security operative from Zamfara State found in possession of 217 rounds of ammunition intended for sale to criminal groups. Other intercepted gunrunners were caught transporting large stockpiles of arms to volatile regions in Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara States.
Beyond Kaduna, the DSS extended its operations to Delta State, where agents uncovered a massive weapons cache in Asaba, including over 50 AK-47 rifles, six pump-action guns, and more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition.
Governor Sani praised the DSS for its effective collaboration with other security agencies and urged sustained support and partnership to build on these security achievements and maintain momentum in the fight against insecurity.
