Akwa Ibom Commissioner Pushes for Full Implementation of RMAFC Mandates

Speaking on Friday during an engagement with RMAFC management and staff in Uyo, Akpan emphasized the need to localize key mandates such as monitoring revenue inflows and disbursements, reviewing allocation formulas, advising on fiscal management, determining the remuneration of political officeholders, and executing other constitutionally assigned duties.
Akpan pledged to ensure that the Akwa Ibom State office operates in alignment with the Commission’s national headquarters, stressing the importance of teamwork in achieving set goals.
He assured the state’s RMAFC workforce of improved welfare conditions, promising open communication channels where staff concerns would be heard and addressed.
“We must actively pursue and fully establish the Commission’s mandates here in Akwa Ibom during my tenure,” Akpan declared. “Through collaboration, we can set the pace for other RMAFC state offices.”
In her remarks, Mrs. Margaret Archibong, Deputy Director and State Coordinator of RMAFC, praised Akpan’s commitment to practical solutions for operational challenges, urging him to ensure that Akwa Ibom benefits equally from privileges enjoyed by other states.
Similarly, Mr. Tamana KpooBavi, Head of Operations, expressed optimism that Akpan’s leadership would drive significant progress and resolve longstanding issues facing the Commission in the state.
