Former IGP Mohammed Adamu Joins Nasarawa Governorship Race Under APC
Former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has formally announced his ambition to contest for the governorship of Nasarawa State in the 2027 general elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Adamu, who served as Nigeria’s IGP between 2019 and 2021 during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, made his declaration during a meeting with members of the APC State Working Committee in Lafia.
The former police chief explained that his decision was prompted by a “clarion call” from the people of Nasarawa, who, he said, have shown strong belief in his leadership capabilities and vast experience.
“I am responding to the call of my people who trust in my ability to serve and advance Nasarawa. With the grace of God, my government will be inclusive, transparent, and dedicated to delivering real development across all sectors,” Adamu pledged.
His entry into the race adds significant weight to the expanding field of aspirants eyeing the Nasarawa governorship seat in 2027. Governor Abdullahi Sule, the current occupant of the office, is completing his second term under the APC banner.
