Police Gun Down Suspected Robber in Kebbi, Recover Loaded Pistol

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the Kamba District of Dandi Local Government Area.
According to CSP Nafiu Abubakar, spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, four armed men had mounted a roadblock on Marina Road with the intent to rob passing commuters. Upon receiving a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer in Kamba led a combined team of police operatives and local hunters to the scene.
On arrival, the assailants opened fire on the security team, leading to a gunfight. During the exchange, one suspect was fatally shot while the remaining three fled into the nearby forest, likely with gunshot wounds. A Beretta pistol containing three live rounds was retrieved at the site of the confrontation.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello M. Sani, praised the officers and hunters for their rapid and coordinated response, describing the action as a notable step forward in the ongoing battle against violent crime and banditry in the region.
Sani encouraged citizens to continue reporting suspicious activities and pledged that the police command would not relent in its pursuit of the remaining suspects. A manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the fugitives and recover additional weapons.
“The police remain resolute in their mission to combat all forms of criminality and ensure the security of lives and property across the state,” Sani affirmed.
