Kebbi Police Foil Robbery Attempt, Neutralize Suspect and Recover Weapon

One suspect was neutralized, and a Beretta pistol with live ammunition was recovered from the scene.
The incident took place in the early hours of April 19, when a group of about four armed robbers blocked Marina Road in Kamba District, aiming to rob unsuspecting commuters. After receiving an urgent distress call, the Divisional Police Officer in Kamba quickly assembled a team of police officers and local hunters to respond.
A gunfight broke out between the security forces and the robbers, resulting in the death of one suspect. The remaining robbers fled into nearby forests with gunshot injuries. Security teams are now actively searching the area to capture the fleeing suspects and recover any additional weapons.
Kebbi’s Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, commended the bravery and quick action of the officers involved in the operation. He also thanked the public for their swift reporting and urged continued vigilance and collaboration in the fight against crime.
