Ekiti APC Backs Tinubu and Oyebanji for 2027, 2026 Re-Elections

The endorsement was made during an APC caucus meeting held in Iyin Ekiti on Friday. Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, proposed the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term, while the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, moved the motion for Oyebanji’s re-election bid.

Adaramodu commended President Tinubu’s transformative economic reforms and robust security strategies, which he said had significantly strengthened Nigeria’s socio-economic structure within just 18 months in office. He dismissed opposition criticism, calling it mere political noise, and emphasized that the APC is focused on delivering sustained progress through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Backing Oyebanji for a second term in the 2026 gubernatorial election, Aribasoye highlighted the governor’s exemplary governance, integrity, and development-oriented policies. He praised Oyebanji’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and overall socio-economic development.

Earlier, the State APC Chairman, Sola Elesin, noted that all communities across Ekiti had benefited from various government initiatives, including rural electrification, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

Former Governor Kayode Fayemi also praised Oyebanji for his humility and dedication, urging party members to support him wholeheartedly. Oyebanji, in response, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and credited President Tinubu’s national policies for enabling states like Ekiti to thrive.

Former Governor Niyi Adebayo affirmed the unanimous decision of the caucus, stating that Oyebanji had earned the party’s full backing for a second term due to his commendable performance.
