Middle Belt Forum Urges Jonathan, Buhari, El-Rufai to Help Unmask Terror Sponsors
The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has called on former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, as well as ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, to share critical information that could help security forces combat the escalating insecurity in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In an interview, MBF’s Publicity Secretary, Dr. Isuwa Dogo, stated that the trio had, during their respective administrations, hinted at knowledge of those behind violent attacks across the country. He questioned why they have remained silent and urged them to assist the current government with any useful intelligence.
Referencing a past statement by Jonathan and his national security adviser, Dogo asked, “Why hasn’t Jonathan disclosed the identities of those he once claimed were hosting terrorists?”
Dogo also criticized the Buhari administration for allegedly reintegrating so-called “repentant” Boko Haram members into the military and other security agencies. “How can people who’ve committed mass killings be forgiven and given weapons again?” he asked, calling for an audit of all personnel and the prosecution of any embedded ex-terrorists.
Regarding Nasir El-Rufai, Dogo challenged him to provide information from his dealings with armed groups while in office, stressing that such transparency could aid efforts to curb violence.
He further dismissed the framing of ongoing violence as mere farmer-herder clashes, arguing that those branded as herdsmen are in fact well-armed terrorists backed by wealthy urban politicians. “These aren’t just Fulani herders,” he said. “They’re hired killers carrying AK-47s—this is organized terrorism.”
Dogo also condemned the lack of timely security response despite reports of terrorists moving in convoys, attacking entire communities unchecked.
