Peter Okoye Breaks Silence on Two Decades of Family Betrayal
Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct music group P-Square, has opened up about enduring more than 20 years of betrayal and manipulation—allegedly from his own family.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
This revelation follows his recent testimony at the Federal High Court in Lagos in a high-profile case involving his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye. Jude is currently facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a seven-count charge related to money laundering amounting to ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. The charges also involve his music label, Northside Music Limited.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, Peter reflected on the emotional toll of enduring mistreatment in silence for over two decades. He urged the public not to remain silent when hurt by those closest to them.
“Don’t let family be the reason you drown in silence. I did for over 20 years and it almost cost me everything,” he wrote.
He emphasized that genuine love and loyalty should never involve manipulation or betrayal. “Family that steals, manipulates, shames, or disregards your pain is not family,” he stated. “My mental health is a priority now. If it costs my peace, it’s too expensive.”
Mr P’s candid remarks have added a deeply personal dimension to the ongoing legal case, which has stirred intense public interest and debate within the Nigerian entertainment industry and beyond.
