Aliyu Muhammad, a former councilor of Hadejia Local Government Area in Jigawa State, tragically lost his life in a fatal road accident on Sunday. The unfortunate incident occurred as local residents gathered to welcome Governor Umar Namadi for the inauguration of a newly constructed road spanning from Dolen Kwana in Birniwa LGA to Garun-Gabas. The event formed part of the government’s Citizens Engagement Programme, designed to deepen interaction between public officials and the communities they serve.
According to an eyewitness, who is also a family member of the deceased, the driver was reportedly operating the vehicle recklessly and was “playing with the car” when the accident happened.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the incident.
