Rivers Sole Administrator Dismisses Rumored Recruitment of 10,000 Civil Servants
Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), has firmly denied online claims alleging he authorized the recruitment of 10,000 new workers into the state civil service.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In an official statement released Thursday in Port Harcourt, the acting Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, Inyingi Brown, described the widely circulated announcement as false and deceptive. The viral message claimed that a recruitment portal would go live by midnight on Sunday, April 13, 2025, and was allegedly signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika.
Brown clarified that the information was entirely fabricated and urged the public to disregard it. He stressed that any legitimate employment announcements will be made solely through the Rivers State Civil Service Commission and disseminated via official channels—not through unauthorized social media sources.
“The public should completely ignore the fake notice. When recruitment is scheduled, accurate details will be officially released by the appropriate government body,” the statement read.
Brown also reiterated that Rivers State maintains a transparent and structured approach to hiring, and any updates regarding job opportunities will be communicated directly by the relevant authorities.
Naija News reports that the misinformation emerged shortly after the recent appointments made by Ibas within the state.
