Obi shared alarming anecdotes of people who once had enough to support others, now resorting to begging for their survival. He expressed concern over the sharp rise in poverty, illustrating that even individuals in once prestigious positions now find themselves asking for help. “Those who used to offer assistance are now in need,” Obi remarked, noting that even in the same hotel he frequented, he no longer receives offers for food or drink.
He pointed out that the situation is so dire that individuals in Agbada, a symbol of wealth and influence, are now begging to return to their homes due to financial constraints. Obi emphasized the worsening state of affairs and called on Nigerians to unite and take action for the country’s betterment, despite the prevailing challenges. “Things are bad, and it’s time for us to come together,” Obi concluded.
