Real Madrid and Arsenal Risk Key Players Ahead of Champions League Clash
Real Madrid and Arsenal are facing disciplinary challenges as they prepare for their eagerly anticipated UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash this evening.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Ahead of the first leg, which kicks off at 8 p.m. tonight, five key players from Real Madrid are one yellow card away from suspension. These players include Vinicius Junior, Luka Modric, Antonio Rudiger, Eduardo Camavinga, and Lucas Vazquez. If any of them receive a yellow card during the match, they will miss the return leg of the quarter-final. Additionally, Eder Militao, though injured, is also at risk, as he is one yellow card away from suspension.
Real Madrid has been notorious for its disciplinary issues this season, having accumulated 33 yellow cards in just 12 Champions League matches, the highest total in the tournament.
Arsenal is also grappling with similar concerns, as Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli, and Jurrien Timber are all one yellow card away from missing a crucial match. Players who receive three yellow cards in the tournament face a one-match suspension.
It’s important to note that yellow card suspensions are reset after the quarter-finals, meaning that players who avoid further bookings will be clear for the semi-finals.
Both teams will be hoping to keep their key players available for the decisive matches ahead as they vie for a spot in the Champions League semi-finals.
