The tragic incident, which occurred on Wednesday and affected five communities, also left several others injured.
Representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Bagos called on the Federal Government to intensify efforts to protect lives and property in Plateau and across the country. He further urged the National Assembly to expedite the passage of legislation establishing state police, emphasizing that decentralizing security will enhance local response and law enforcement effectiveness.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dafwam Yaks, Bagos expressed deep sorrow over the attacks—particularly the one in Ruwi village where 12 lives were reportedly lost.
The statement noted: “Hon. Bagos extends his heartfelt sympathy to the families impacted by this brutal act, which has left deep emotional wounds on the affected communities.”
He praised Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for promptly visiting the affected areas and offering support to bereaved families, describing the gesture as a demonstration of leadership and empathy.
Bagos also emphasized the urgency of addressing the region’s worsening security challenges. He called on the Federal Government to deploy more robust measures to safeguard lives, while urging communities to remain united and proactive in promoting local safety.
Reiterating his stance on state policing, Bagos encouraged the National Assembly to prioritize the legislation enabling states to establish their own security forces.
“In this difficult period, I offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured. It is essential we stand together in strength and solidarity as we rebuild and heal,” he concluded.

Despite possessing what he considers the superior candidate, Baba-Ahmed explained why the party is actively championing a broader political alliance:
