Minister of Defence Under Fire: Anti-Corruption Group Seeks Probe Over Private Business Ties

In a petition signed by the YGA Chairman, Adediran Raymond, the group accused the minister of contravening federal regulations that prohibit public officials from engaging in private business activities. The petition alleges that Minister Badaru continues to hold directorship positions in multiple private companies despite his official role.
The YGA further demanded an inquiry to determine whether the minister disclosed his business interests as required by law in his asset declaration. The group argues that maintaining such private affiliations while holding a public office demonstrates a blatant disregard for legal and ethical standards.
As of the time of reporting, neither the minister nor his representatives have issued a response to the allegations. Additionally, both the EFCC and ICPC have yet to release official statements regarding the petition.
