Addressing the public through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo expressed gratitude to the people of Edo State for their unwavering support throughout the legal battle. He emphasized that the tribunal’s verdict is not just a personal win but a victory for all citizens, reaffirming his commitment to delivering good governance, transparency, and inclusive development.
The three-member tribunal panel, headed by Justice Wilfred Kpochi, dismissed the petition filed by the PDP and its candidate, Ighodalo, citing the failure of the petitioners to present competent witnesses to substantiate their claims of non-compliance with the Electoral Act.

He stressed that his administration would not be sidetracked by frivolous litigation but would continue to focus on development and public welfare.
The governor’s statement reflects a commitment to fostering peace and cooperation in the state, urging citizens to look beyond partisan divisions for the collective good of Edo.
