The senator alleged that Akpabio and Bello orchestrated the recall using falsified identities, highlighting that the recall move was politically motivated and driven by Bello’s vendetta against her. Akpoti-Uduaghan made this assertion following a large gathering of supporters from Kogi Central’s five local government areas, who welcomed her at Ihima, Okehi LGA, despite a government-imposed ban on rallies and processions.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan challenged Bello to disclose the origin of the names purportedly calling for her recall, stating that all available evidence directly implicates the former governor as the mastermind behind the scheme. She recalled Bello’s alleged attempts to sabotage her political aspirations during the 2023 general elections, including multiple reported attacks against her.
Describing the recall process as a continuation of Bello’s political vendetta, Akpoti-Uduaghan advised the former governor to focus on addressing allegations of fraudulent diversion of N89.2 billion rather than seeking to destabilize the democratic mandate given to her by the people of Kogi Central.
