Peter Obi Accuses Federal Government of Orchestrating Labour Party Crisis

Obi emphasized the need for true democracy in Nigeria, suggesting that the system would function more effectively if the government practiced genuine democratic principles, even when not in its favor. He further criticized the government of President Bola Tinubu for intimidating opposition parties and hindering their activities.
The politician particularly condemned the situation in Rivers State, which led to the declaration of a state of emergency. Obi argued that the political unrest in Rivers was a result of individuals making the state ungovernable for their own political gains, which ultimately undermined the country’s fragile democracy.
