The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Honourable Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of orchestrating a crisis in the state to provoke a declaration of a state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Tenebe alleged that the PDP leadership in Edo has devised a “reckless and dangerous” strategy aimed at making the state ungovernable. He stated that the PDP’s goal is to undermine public peace and force an emergency declaration because they lack confidence in the outcome of the Edo Election Petition Tribunal.

According to Tenebe, the PDP has resorted to acts of sabotage, attempting to manipulate public perception and judicial sentiment to their advantage. He further alleged that disbanded members of the Edo State Security Network have been mobilized to perpetrate violence, citing recent disturbances in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area.

Tenebe also claimed that the PDP is trying to create a false narrative implicating the state government in the unrest, thereby garnering sympathy and public support for their cause. He accused the PDP of exploiting the tribunal’s composition, where two out of three judges are from the North, in an effort to sway the ruling.

The APC Chairman referenced the recent backlash against Governor Monday Okpebholo for traveling to Kano to condole with victims of the Uromi crisis as an indication of PDP’s involvement in the incident.

Tenebe called on security agencies to arrest PDP leaders allegedly involved in the plot and urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to collaborate with foreign embassies to extradite PDP members residing abroad for prosecution. He insisted that no acts of violence or terrorism will be tolerated.

He vowed that the APC would not be intimidated by any attempts at blackmail or manipulation, reaffirming that Governor Monday Okpebholo would rightfully secure victory at the tribunal. Tenebe stressed that the will of the Edo people would prevail and that the state would emerge stronger despite the challenges.
