Nigerian singer and politician, Banky W, has disclosed that his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, was the one who initiated the step that eventually led to their marriage.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

reports that the couple opened up about their relationship journey in a recent interview with Teju Babyface, where they reflected on how their love story began and developed over time.

Banky W explained that he had shown romantic interest in Adesua at the early stage, but she placed him in the friend zone for a long period. He said he eventually stopped pursuing her directly and turned to prayer, hoping things would change.

According to him, after about a year and a few months, Adesua contacted him and referred to him as her husband, a moment he described as the turning point in their relationship.

“Adesua was actually the one who asked me to be her husband. She kept me in the friend zone for a long time, so I stopped pushing and simply prayed to God to touch her heart. After a year and a few months, she finally called me ‘my husband’, and that’s it,” he said.

Adesua also spoke about their marriage, revealing that they have been together for 10 years and still share a strong bond. She said they maintain affection through simple habits like holding hands and sleeping close to each other.

She added that she once had reservations about marrying entertainers, pastors, and politicians, but noted that her husband fits all three categories, which she believes reflects a divine plan.

“We’ve been married for 10 years and we still hold each other’s hands all the time. We sleep together with our feet touching each other. I didn’t want to marry an artiste, a pastor and a politician, but God gave me all three,” she said.

“You Can’t Deliver Your State” — Okpebholo Fires Fresh Attack On Peter Obi Ahead Of 2027.

The governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has dismissed the political influence of presidential hopeful Peter Obi, arguing that his electoral strength is overstated.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During an interview on Channels Television, Okpebholo said the political realities that shaped past elections would not be the same going into 2027.

He further claimed that the former Anambra State governor would be unable to secure victory in his home state in the next general election.

He said, “Why should I be afraid when I am doing what the people want? Look at him in his own state. Can he even deliver it? What happened in 2023 will not happen again because Edo now has a working governor and the people are satisfied.”

The governor also clarified his earlier comments regarding Obi’s visit to Edo State, which was said to have faced some tension. He insisted his remarks were based on security considerations.

“I told Obi that whenever he is coming, due to the sensitive nature of the environment, he should inform us so we can provide security. I don’t see what is wrong in that. I was only trying to protect him,” he explained.

Okpebholo added that as a high-profile figure, Obi would require proper security arrangements, which would be easier if the state government was duly informed.

On national politics, the governor expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu, describing him as currently the most influential political leader in Nigeria. He also linked recent defections of governors to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the president’s performance in office.

“If the president was not performing, those governors would not be joining the APC. Nobody forced them; they made their own decision. Things are improving,” he said.

He further credited the Tinubu administration with taking bold reforms, especially the removal of fuel subsidy, which he said previous governments lacked the courage to implement.

“There are many difficult decisions this president has taken that others could not. The fuel subsidy removal is one example. It has brought some benefits to the country,” he noted.

Responding to criticism from opposition politicians, Okpebholo dismissed their concerns, saying they refuse to acknowledge any progress made by the current administration.

“They believe that if they are not the ones in power, then nothing is being done right,” he added.

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has assured that the Labour Party (LP) will ensure a fair and open contest for all aspirants seeking its ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He said the party would not shut out any eligible member, noting that key requirements such as membership status and financial standing must be met before anyone can contest.

Otti, who also serves as the party’s National Leader, made this known on Thursday in Abuja after attending the inaugural meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC).

He stated that democracy guarantees participation for all qualified aspirants, adding that the final decision rests with the people.

“If you meet the requirements of the party and you want to run, we will give you a ticket. Democracy does not stop anybody who wants to contest. It is the people who will decide who leads them,” he said.

Otti reaffirmed that the Labour Party presidential ticket remains open to all eligible members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He expressed confidence in the newly constituted leadership that emerged from the party’s recent national convention, saying it has the capacity to reposition the LP.

He also congratulated the National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, and members of the 13-man NWC, noting that the strong turnout at the meeting reflected unity within the party.

“I would like to congratulate the National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee for being found worthy to lead the party for the next four years. We have absolute confidence in her ability to lead,” he said.

Otti further explained that the party is working to strengthen its internal democratic structures, including primaries and voting processes, ahead of future elections.

Addressing concerns about internal divisions, he said the recent convention showed wider participation, with over 25 state chairmen—including some from previous factions—present.

According to him, this development reflects growing reconciliation and a gradual strengthening of unity within the party.
