Rivers Sole Admin Urges Enhanced Security Patrols, Collaboration Among Agencies

Ibas made these remarks during a meeting with heads of paramilitary organizations at Government House in Port Harcourt. He emphasized that sustainable development can only thrive in a peaceful environment, urging security agencies to step up their efforts to prevent crime and maintain law and order.
The Sole Administrator stressed the need for inter-agency collaboration and stronger intelligence-gathering efforts to tackle crimes such as kidnapping, illegal activities, and communal conflicts. He also warned against the use of vehicles with unregistered or concealed number plates, describing them as a security threat.
Ibas further highlighted the importance of community policing and urged security personnel to foster peaceful coexistence within local government areas and rural communities. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing the necessary support to improve the effectiveness of paramilitary operations.
In response, the Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Rivers State Command, Mr. Felix Madumere, expressed appreciation for Ibas’ insights and pledged the agency’s cooperation in ensuring that the administrator’s tenure contributes significantly to enhancing security in the state.
