Ogun: 2,141 Suspects Arrested in Three Months – Police

The Ogun State Police Command has revealed that over 2,141 suspects were arrested for various crimes during the first three months of 2025. Of these, 1,530 have been prosecuted.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The police attributed their success to the strong support, logistics, and funding from the state government, as well as their active engagement with the public and collaboration with other security agencies.

In a statement titled “Activities of Ogun State Police Command in the First Quarter of 2025,” spokesperson Omolola Odutola outlined the detailed operations and achievements of the command during the period.

The command reported the following outcomes for the months of January, February, and March:

  • January: 17 armed robbers arrested, one neutralized, 13 arms recovered, 67 rounds of ammunition seized, 695 suspects arrested in total, and N37.4 million worth of stolen property recovered.

  • February: Nine armed robbers arrested, one neutralized, 18 arms recovered, 945 suspects arrested, and N54.9 million worth of property recovered.

  • March: 16 armed robbers arrested, one neutralized, 9 arms recovered, 501 suspects arrested, and N14.5 million worth of property recovered.

The command also seized 26 stolen vehicles and apprehended five kidnappers. A total of 62 convictions were secured, and 1,345 cases were charged to court.

Additionally, the police emphasized their commitment to community engagement and increased security efforts, especially around motorbike riders. They advised parents to monitor their children’s activities, particularly those attending secondary school.

The Ogun State Police Command pledged to continue working towards ensuring the safety and security of the state’s residents.
