Lionel Messi Shouldn’t Be Forced To Play At 2026 World Cup – Argentina Coach
Argentina’s head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has stressed the importance of not pressuring football legend Lionel Messi regarding his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Following Argentina’s dominant 4-1 victory over Brazil, they officially secured a spot in the next year’s tournament. This has sparked widespread speculation about whether the 37-year-old Messi, now nearing the twilight of his career, will play in his sixth World Cup.
Scaloni, however, encouraged a patient approach and emphasized that the decision should come from Messi himself when the time is right.
“We will see what happens; there’s plenty of time. We need to focus on one game at a time to avoid dwelling on this topic throughout the year. It’s important to give Messi space. He will make the decision when he feels ready, and we shouldn’t overwhelm him with questions.”
Messi, who missed Argentina’s recent matches against Uruguay and Brazil due to a minor adductor muscle injury, has shown flashes of brilliance this year. Before the injury, he had scored a goal and provided two assists in just two Major League Soccer games for Inter Miami.
Given his form, many football fans still believe Messi has a lot to offer Argentina in the upcoming World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
