Governor Adeleke emphasized the need for prompt accommodation for displaced individuals. “Now that food and relief materials are being distributed, I’ve directed the state emergency agency to set up camps for displaced persons,” Adeleke confirmed.
Each of the affected towns will have a designated camp, possibly located in town halls or other appropriate venues. Security agencies will manage the screening and transportation of displaced persons to these camps.
The governor reassured the public that the emergency agency would continue to provide necessary food and supplies while the situation stabilizes. He also mentioned that the state has requested additional support from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke praised security agencies for quickly responding to his directive to identify and prosecute the instigators of the conflict. “All the culprits must be brought to book. There must be accountability. I expect suspects to be prosecuted without delay,” he added.
The state government is committed to ensuring justice and preventing further escalation, with law enforcement intensifying operations in the affected towns. The 24-hour curfew previously imposed remains in effect, with security forces monitoring and patrolling the area to prevent further violence.
Governor Adeleke urged community leaders and other stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies to facilitate peace and ensure the safety of all residents.
The Osun State Emergency Management Agency is closely monitoring the situation, working with local authorities to provide support to affected individuals.
