The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been urged to endorse Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as its candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Naija News, this call was made by Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency.
During a media briefing, Hon. Waive commended Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, highlighting his commitment to people-oriented policies and infrastructural development. He also emphasized the governor’s strong working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that Oborevwori’s continued governance would be beneficial to both Delta State and the APC.
“Governor Sheriff has exceeded expectations with his impactful projects and inclusive governance,” Waive remarked. “His re-election under the APC ticket would not only strengthen the party but also resolve lingering internal disputes within the Delta State chapter.”
Hon. Waive further expressed confidence in Oborevwori’s chances in the 2027 elections, asserting that no other candidate could defeat him. He added that aligning the governor with the APC would ensure a seamless electoral victory, benefiting both the state and President Tinubu’s administration.
“The rotational zoning of the governorship among Delta’s three senatorial districts also supports Governor Sheriff’s second-term bid,” he noted. “With just one term remaining for him, this move will foster political stability and unity within the party.”
He, therefore, called on all Deltans and APC stakeholders to rally behind the proposal, emphasizing that it would promote peace, party cohesion, and sustained development across the state.

Despite possessing what he considers the superior candidate, Baba-Ahmed explained why the party is actively championing a broader political alliance:
-
Consensus Over Ego: The PRP chairman emphasized that the party’s push for a mega-coalition is driven by consensus and constitutional processes rather than forcing Duke’s candidacy through on profile strength alone.
