Speaking at a civic reception hosted by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for political stakeholders in Port Harcourt, Abe attributed these actions to the selfish interests of politicians, including himself. Abe, who ran as the governorship candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers, admitted that he had denied the SDP’s then-presidential candidate permission to campaign in the state due to his allegiance to President Bola Tinubu, the APC’s candidate at the time.

Abe accused key figures such as Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Governor Nyesom Wike, PDP leaders, and the APC leadership in Rivers of engaging in anti-party activities during the elections. He questioned why Wike’s anti-party actions have been singled out for attention, suggesting it was due to the success of Wike’s efforts in the elections.

Recalling events from 2015, Abe mentioned that some politicians in the state had obtained a court injunction in Imo State to block the transfer of power from former Governor Rotimi Amaechi to Wike. He said he had warned Amaechi that such actions could damage his legacy in the state.

He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.

He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.
