Speaking from his hometown of Okoffia in Ezza South Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, Ugbala shared his insights with journalists. He acknowledged that every region in the country desires attention from the federal government but emphasized that, unlike previous administrations, President Tinubu’s government has not overlooked the South East.

He explained, “The country is like a basket with everyone scrambling for their share. While some may feel neglected by past governments, under Tinubu’s leadership, the South East is seeing significant improvements. We are benefiting from key projects like the coastal and ring roads.”

Ugbala pointed out that major projects are underway, such as the road linking Enugu to Onitsha and the road from Gboko to Makurdi, reaching up to 9th Mile. “If the South East has ever been neglected, it’s certainly not happening under this administration. All we need is patience with President Tinubu and the Minister for Works. We will reap the benefits of this government,” he added.

The FERMA representative stressed the importance of a strong road maintenance culture and assured that all roads in the South East are being addressed. He noted that President Tinubu had directed that all roads nationwide must be maintained.

Ugbala also promised transparency in FERMA’s efforts to maintain roads across the country. “It’s not just about building roads; maintaining them is crucial. Without maintenance, we lose what we’ve built,” he said. “From Abakaliki to Enugu and Afikpo, maintenance work is ongoing. There are urgent issues to address in areas like Abia, Enugu, and Anambra, and all South East states are receiving attention.”

He further emphasized that although resources may be limited, the government is committed to transparency and value for money in road maintenance. “This year, we aim to improve even more, and many roads are included in the budget. We understand the challenges, but we are dedicated to our mission,” Ugbala concluded.

“FIFA’s Radical 2030 Vision: Massive 64-Team World Cup Expansion On The Table!”.

Published

on

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has revealed that the governing body is exploring the possibility of expanding the 2030 World Cup to include 64 teams. This potential shift follows the recent expansion from 32 to 48 teams for the 2026 tournament, which increased the match count to 104. Infantino advocates for this change to provide smaller footballing nations with greater opportunities to qualify, arguing that increased representation motivates countries to invest in their local leagues, academies, and national programs. While the proposal remains subject to approval by FIFA’s decision-making bodies, it aims to narrow the competitive gap between traditional powerhouses and emerging teams. The 2030 event, which commemorates the tournament’s centenary, is already unique for being hosted by six countries across three continents: Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

FIFA is considering a massive shake-up for the 2030 World Cup, with President Gianni Infantino hinting at a potential expansion to 64 teams. Building on the success of the 48-team format introduced for 2026, Infantino believes that giving more countries a seat at the table is essential for the global development of the sport. He noted that under the current expanded format, teams from all continents have proven their competitiveness, suggesting that the divide between established nations and newcomers is shrinking. If approved, this 64-team structure would be implemented for a historic tournament already set to span three continents and six host nations to celebrate the competition’s 100th anniversary. FIFA is currently evaluating the logistical and financial implications of such an expansion before making a final decision.
